Individual Broom Making Sessions
Looking for a more personal, hands-on broom making experience?
Individual broom making sessions offer you the opportunity to work one-on-one in a relaxed, guided setting — learning the craft at your own pace and creating a broom that’s truly your own.
Whether you’re drawn to practical farmhouse sweepers, cobweb brooms, or simply want to explore the rhythm of working with natural materials, these sessions are shaped around your interests and skill level.
Come with an idea or simply with curiosity — and leave with a finished broom and a deeper connection to this timeless craft.
All materials provided. No experience necessary. Sessions are typically 2-3 hours depending on broom style.
Please keep in mind, broom making requires manual dexterity in both hands and feet. Participants should feel comfortable using a blunt knife and lighter.

Beginner Class & Workshop Descriptions
Basic Round Whisk - $40 per person
Learn how to make a functional, round whisk broom.
In this beginner-friendly workshop, you'll learn traditional broom making techniques to craft one round whisk broom. These whisks are perfect for cleaning desks, kitchen tables, workbenches, fireplaces, and more.
Broomcorn — a variety of sorghum — is the essential natural material for broom making, known for its strength and flexibility. We’ll also explore broom folklore, history, and tips for care and longevity.
Please keep in mind, broom making requires manual dexterity in both hands and feet. Participants should feel comfortable using a blunt knife and lighter.
•This workshop is considered beginner friendly and is open to participants 14 and older.
•This class requires 90 minutes.
•All materials and tools are provided.
•Class size limited to 10 for an intimate, hands-on experience.
•Depending on location, travel expenses may be added to cost of the workshop.

Crafted to create a fan shape, these are great tools for cleaning all types of areas: desks, kitchen tables, workbenches, fireplaces, and more!
Broomcorn, a variety of sorghum, is the essential natural material for household cleaning because it is delicate enough to catch hair and smaller debris while being strong enough to bend without breaking. We will discuss broom folklore, history, and care for longevity.

Learn how to make a functional, handle-less broom known as a Cobwebbe. In this workshop you will learn traditional broom making techniques required to weave one handle-less cobwebber broom. The cobweb style broom is great for cleaning hard to reach places: ceilings, under the couch, behind furniture, windowsills, and more! The fact that the handle is not attached to a limb, but made using weaving techniques, allows for a lighter tool and ease of use. This is a hands-on broom making workshop where you'll craft your own handled cobweb broom — perfect for clearing away cobwebs from your home or space.
In this class, you will learn traditional broom making techniques using natural materials, creating a lightweight, long-handled broom designed for getting into those hard to reach and forgotten spaces, like ceiling corners, vents, and under or behind furniture and appliances.
Each broom is functional and beautiful — a blend of old-world utility and hand-crafted charm. Expect to leave with a tool that feels as good to use as it looks to hang.

Farmhouse Sweeper - $150 per person

In this class, you'll create a classic flat broom — perfect for everyday sweeping of porches, kitchens, and hearths. Using natural broomcorn and traditional techniques, you'll shape and stitch a hardworking broom that feels right at home in any farmhouse, cabin, or cozy corner.
The Farmhouse Sweeper is built for use — sturdy, simple, and beautiful in its practicality. Along the way, you'll learn the history of broom making, tips for caring for your handmade broom, and leave with a tool meant to serve you for years to come.
